Weather in Ireland

When I decided to come to Ireland, I knew I would have to adjust myself to the Irish weather and maybe I would need to get used to using an umbrella every day!

I had heard that summer in Ireland could be compared with winter in Brazil, so I could only imagine that the winter in Ireland would be freezing...

But I think that the winter here is not so cold. Thankfully Ireland doesn't have any extremes of temperature and during the winter it's rare to get sub-zero temperatures.

Since 2006, I think I've only seen about 5 days of snow. I had never even seen real snow before coming to Europe and it was only in my second year when I finally saw snow...

Summer in Ireland : )

Ireland has a relatively mild climate all year round.

The average temperature here is 9°C (or about 50°F).

I also learned that in the east of the country "Dublin" there is less rain than in the west of Ireland.

I arrived in Ireland at the end of July when the average temperature was about 20°C (68°F).

I think I was lucky because when I arrived here (summer) the weather was not so different from the weather in Brazil (winter)!
