Where are the best nightlife spots in Dublin?

One of the best things about living in Ireland is the nightlife. Dublin is one of the most popular cities in the world for going out and when you come here, you will realise why!

I've lived in Dublin for over 3 years now and i still LOVE going out here.

When you first arrive in Dublin, you will probably go to Temple Bar, one of the main meeting spots of the city.

Temple Bar is located just south of the River Liffey in the centre of Dublin and is one of the many tourist attractions in Ireland.

However, there are many other places to find entertainment, especially if you're in Ireland for more than a weekend.

You will find lots of very good bars in the following streets:

Dame St, Georges St, South William St, Wexford St, Dawson St, Baggot St, Camden St, Harcourt St, and the list goes on...

Most tourists in Dublin spend their nights out in Temple Bar, so if you really want to meet Irish people ...then it's a good idea to go away from the tourist locations.

Of course some of the best Irish bars can be found outside Dublin, in smaller cities and towns across the country. And hopefully you will get a chance to visit some of them too!!

If you decide to try something different though, you can take a visit to one of the many concert venues around Dublin city.

The most well-known concert venues in Dublin are "Abbey", "GaietyTheatre", "GateTheatre", "Olympia" and "The Point" (now called the O2).

Here you will find a wide array of entertainment, like...

Live music, comedy shows, plays, operas, dancing, and much more.

When my mother came to visit me in Dublin we saw Riverdance in the "GaietyTheatre" and it was really a great experience. I've also seen lots of live music, and I even tried a comedy show here!

The main concert venue in Dublin is the O2, located a short walk of Dublin city centre at Dublin Docklands.

The O2 used to be called the Point Theatre, before being re-developed in 2007.

It is also located just across the river from the old recording studio of the U2 in Hanover Quay, and U2 was the first band to perform at the O2.

The O2 hosts most of the big concerts and events in Ireland, and it has a capacity of over 14,000.

If you hear about any big bands or singers coming to perform in Dublin, then there is a good chance they will be at the O2.
