Choice of school
I believe your choice of school makes a difference! One of my main objectives when coming to Ireland was to study international business, as I had worked in a business environment in Brazil.Although this course was my first choice, I knew I had to improve my English before I could start this course. So... I turned my attention to finding an English course. Once you have decided to come to Ireland, the next question is: What is my main goal here? Study English the maximum amount of time possible, or have time available for work? If you decide that work is your priority, you should look for a school that operates a more convenient timetable for you. For example, if you apply for a one year visa, then you may prefer a school where your schedule is... Monday to Thursday15 Hours study per weekFlexible, so you can change the time of the day that you want to study6 months of study, followed by 6 months with no classOne advantage with these type of schools is that they are generally cheaper than schools with a more extensive timetable. However, if you decide that study is your priority, you will obviously want to find the best school for your needs. The best schools usually have... Small classes with a maximum of 15 students Teachers who have English as their first languageStudents of many different nationalities Long study periods and short holiday periods But don't forget that this type of school is usually more expensive and will require more dedication. When I was choosing my course, I tried to find a school of good value. I also knew that, being from a non-EU country, I could pay less for my second course because I was already living in Ireland. My plan was to work and save some money to pay for a business course in my 2nd year. Thankfully my plan worked out well, and I could study business English after year 1.
At the moment, I am studying Business in one of the best colleges in Ireland and I will finish it in the next school year.
