Would you like to study and work in Ireland?
Almost four years ago, after many years of study in Brazil, I realised that a good level of English or an international diploma would be essential to progress in my career.
I needed to live and experience life in a country where people speak English as their first language. I knew this would be important for a work environment.
In early 2006, I began to research all the options for studying and working in a foreign country.
In the end, my decision was easy...
Ireland!
WHY IRELAND?
I could have chosen a number of countries, like Australia, the USA, Canada or the UK.
But I soon realised...
Australia is too similar to Brazil. Our climate and even our seasons are the same.
I knew I might also feel isolated from the rest of the world.
The USA and Canada were attractive choices, but I knew I'd have to work and save for a LONG time before I could pack my bags.
Unfortunately, to obtain a work visa in these countries is also very complicated.
The UK requires that a visa is processed and approved before you leave your country.
I also heard that some people had wasted much of their time and money trying in vain to organise this visa, so my decision was made...
Ireland was the perfect choice!
I didn't need a visa prior to travelling, AND I could study and work legally without any problems.
The friendly nature of the Irish people also made it a great choice, not to mention the cultural, historical and natural attractions of the country!
I knew I could also travel around Europe for my holidays! So many different countries within a few hours!
All I needed to do now was find a course, some flight tickets and a place to stay...
and just a few more things...
